Amoxil

Amoxil is a popular antibiotic that is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It is also known by its generic name, amoxicillin. Amoxil is part of a group of antibiotics called penicillins. Penicillins are antibiotics that kill bacteria by destroying the bacteria's cell wall. Amoxil is a very effective antibiotic and is usually well tolerated by most people. However, like all antibiotics, it can cause side effects in some people. The most common side effects of Amoxil are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash. Amoxil can also cause more serious side effects, such as severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), kidney damage, and seizures. Amoxil should be used only to treat bacterial infections and should not be used to treat viral infections, such as the common cold or flu. If you have a viral infection, your doctor will prescribe an antiviral medication. Amoxil is available in both capsule and liquid form. It is usually taken three times a day, with or without food. Amoxil should be taken for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Even if you feel better, you should continue to take Amoxil until the prescribed amount is finished. If you stop taking Amoxil too soon, the bacteria may not be completely killed and the infection may return. Amoxil can be taken with or without food. If you are taking Amoxil capsules, you should take them with a full glass of water. Amoxil should be stored at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Amoxil capsules should be stored in their original container. Amoxil liquid should be stored in a refrigerator, but should be thrown away after 10 days. Amoxil capsules and liquid are both prescription drugs and are not available over-the-counter.

Amoxil is also used to treat skin infections, urinary tract infections, and genital infections. Amoxil can also be used to treat certain types of stomach ulcers. Amoxil is typically prescribed for 10 days to two weeks.
